SGCCI core focus also includes knowledge sharing and training programmes, via seminars, workshops, trade meets, expo etc., to boost Trade and Commerce. SGCCI is committed to the development and strong evolution to the MSME segment in Southern Gujarat region by way of implementing the various initiatives of the government. Surat has a strong base of manufacturing and is contributing in a big way to the national GDP with involvement of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises(MSME).

SGCCI is totally committed towards promoting the "BRAND SURAT" worldwide, attracting FDI into the region, enabling exponential industrial growth. SGCCI

Surat city is also a home to a large number of textile mills, including both small-scale and large-scale industries, that manufacture a wide range of textiles, such as synthetic textiles, cotton textiles, silk textiles, and more. Surat's textile industry has a rich history that dates back to the 19th century, when the city emerged as a major center for cotton trade. Over time, the industry has grown to become one of the most significant contributors to the city's economy, employing a large number of people and generating significant revenue.

The textile industry in Surat has undergone significant changes and modernizations in recent years, with the adoption of advanced technologies and the introduction of new products and production techniques. Today, Surat is one of the leading textile manufacturing hubs in India, with a wide variety of products that are exported to different parts of the world.

Regardless of the various challenges, including escalating labor costs, price swings, and competition from other regions, across the world, Surat is still expanding and changing, due to continuous adaptation to new technologies and innovative ideas.
